Rustic stone exposed former farmhouse, in wonderful position over the Valgraziosa, from which you can enjoy impressive landscapes, ranging from the Monte Serra, with its oaks and chestnut trees to olive groves with characteristic terraces fenced by stone walls.
The stone farmhouse, still rural building, is set just 10 minutes from the center of Calci and is an example of spontaneous rural architecture, currently used only as a base during the olive harvest and on weekends, thanks to the favorable climatic position. The 160 square meters are arranged on two floors, with entrance in the kitchen with original fireplace, wooden stairs leading to the first floor, bathroom and outdoor stone oven, as well as two independent rooms still used as cellar and storage. On the first floor there are 3 large rooms with beams and cotto tiles. Thefarmhouse needs to be totally restored as it had little maintenance that involved only the kitchen on the ground floor with the nearby bathroom and sandblasting of the beams on the first floor. Included in the sale also about 1.6 hectares of terraced olive groves fenced by stone wall of ancient origin . You reach this property along a gravel road in good condition. Excellent exposure and unique views.
In the valley which crosses the river Zambra, commonly known as Valgraziosa, is the village of Calci. Its name suggests the lime around the area or a Greek installation (Calcidesi) . This area was probably inhabited during the Roman period but first written documentation is from 8th to 12th century. During medieval times Calci was known as an important market centre, then in the Medicean times for hunting and summer stays. In the vicinity of Calci is the small village of Montemagno (198 metres above sea level) known as the birthplace of Pope Eugenio III Paganelli (1145-1153).
