This elegant manor house is set in the historic center of a hamlet, about half an hour from the famous cities of Pisa and Lucca. Built on the remains of a 10th century fortress, it was inhabited by the administrators of the Medici family, who owned large agricultural estates in the area. Enlarged and decorated with precious frescoes by the Florentine master Pietro Giarrè, already author of some magnificent frescoes at the Certosa di Calci, the villa in the eighteenth century became a place of pleasure, with the Italian garden refreshed by a central fountain, marble benches shaded by camellias plants. The complex included also the church and the stables. Today the manor house, bound by the Superintendency, welcomes us with all its intact charm, offering an area of about 1450 square meters on four floors: in the basement there are the former cellars, with terracotta ceilings and vaults, organized in three large rooms with two exits to the gardens. On the ground floor there is the main entrance that leads into the frescoed central hall, from which one can access to various rooms, including two bathrooms, the equipped kitchen and sitting rooms with vaulted decorated ceilings. A stone staircase leads to a second noble floor, set on the first floor, with the same number of rooms and another central hall with frescoes. The top floor was entirely occupied by the attic, where the grains and olives collected in the surrounding farms were stored . Included in the sale also an apartmento on 2 levels in the former stables. Although the complex is still used today for the organization of events and celebrations, it is partly in good condition and partly to be restored (roof, plants etc…)
